Motherhood

"When motherhood becomes the fruit of a deep yearning, not the result of ignorance or accident, its children will become the foundation of a new race."

I Wish You Deep Peace

Today I am wishing those with heavy hearts, aches so deep there aren't words to put to them, and tears flowing in a seeming endless procession, peace, deep peace. Sometimes the hollowness can get so big it nearly swallows us whole.

Our husbands love us, try to understand, and struggle to figure out how to "fix" what seems to have cracked right in half within us. Yet, there is no fixing, nothing that can mend our body's betrayal. The thing we long for lies outside of our grasp, yet flows so easily directly to others. We see ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes everywhere we look, except within ourselves.

So today, I wish us all peace, deep peace. Even if just for a moment.
